Join Amanda Pawlowski and Mark Hummel and learn how to fly into crow and beyond in this fun and challenging arm balance workshop. Students will learn how to effectively engage the muscles of the core and posterior kinetic chain in order to safely get into and transition out of a set of introductory arm balances.
Each workshop will begin with a warm-up flow designed to prepare the entire body for the arm balance lessons. Amanda and Mark will then dive deeper into instruction for each session’s arm balance. After preparing the body and learning the mechanics of the poses, Amanda and Mark will lead a flow incorporating transitions in and out of the poses. Arm balances are not only challenging but eye-opening and inspiring, so beginners and more experienced students are all encouraged to attend! Bring your mat and a playful attitude!
Postures explored during each session:
- January 21: Crow and jumpback, Side Crow, EPK 1
- January 28: EPK 2, Chin Stand, Forearm Stand, Handstand
- February 4: 8-Angle, Flying Pigeon, Firefly, Peacock, and One-Arm Peacock
