Teaching Style

We are all drawn to yoga for many different reasons, but there is always one commonality: to be more functional. To use yoga as a tool to keep our bodies healthy and stable. With that in mind, my focus is on creating thoughtful classes that include functional, sustainable movements to maintain a mobile body. My teaching is rooted in three core values: gratitude, self-acceptance and non-judgement. I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” yoga practice, and ultimately, my goal is to offer you the opportunity to become curious about your body, how it moves and what works best for you.

How Yoga Serves Carly

The practice of yoga is a constant self-study; constant awareness about how you show up for yourself. Yoga always brings me back to what is. What is happening now, what thoughts are arising and how I’m reacting. And that’s what I hope to bring to you – awareness of what’s happening in the present moment.

Background

At the time I found yoga, it was something to help relieve and manage stress, as well as a way to stay active. While that still holds true, yoga has become much more than that for me. It’s evolved into a practice of self discovery and transformation. I received my RYT 200 certification from Active Sol Yoga in 2015 and have since continued education with well-known teachers including Alexandria Crow and Kathryn Budig.
