Amanda Barwick

Teaching Style

Amanda Barwick teaches vinyasa style yoga with emphasis on breath-synchronized movement. Her classes offer sustainable sequencing with challenging movements that lead to a peak posture or experience. Props are encouraged, as are modifications and intuitive movement. Sometimes the biggest challenge is just showing up on your mat!

How Yoga Serves Amanda Barwick

Amanda has always found that she is her kindest and happiest self when her mind/body connection is strongest. Yoga with an emphasis on the breath-movement connection, and teachers and peers that offer spiritual wisdom are what keeps her coming back to her mat.

Words of Wisdom

“You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.”

Background

Amanda’s journey to yoga began long before she stepped onto a mat—it started in dance, where she first learned to listen to her body and find joy in movement. That foundation continues to shape how she teaches today, bringing a natural sense of flow, rhythm, and embodiment to every class.

Amanda completed her 200-hour RYT certification at Yoga Pod in Gainesville, FL in 2023, and returned the following year to deepen her practice with a Yin Yoga certification, also at Yoga Pod. She has since pursued additional training in trauma-informed yoga, which shapes how she holds space for students—with attention to choice, safety, and the understanding that everyone comes to their mat carrying something different.

Whether she’s guiding a dynamic flow or a slow, restorative Yin practice, Amanda’s goal is the same: to help students reconnect with their bodies, breathe a little deeper, and leave feeling more at home in themselves.
