Vladimir Tchakarov

Teaching Style

In his classes, Vladimir uses asana (postures), pranayama (breath control), and meditation as tools to raise energy and engage into an exploration of Self from a place of compassion and non-judgment. Vladimir is adept at creating a layered practice, which can make challenging postures accessible and fun. His classes are infused with themes of yogic philosophy and spiced with longer-held postures designed to release the deep-seated tensions within our mind and body.

How Yoga Serves Vladimir

Yoga is the quest for truth. Through the practice of asana, pranayama and meditation, I raise my energy and become fully alive, aware of the truth of the present moment and its relation to my mind, body and spirit. In today’s complex and stress-filled world, it is easy to lose ourselves and forget who we are. Yoga for me is the reminder of my intrinsic connection to all life.

Words of Wisdom

Self-observation without judgement is the highest form of yoga.

Background

Born and raised in Bulgaria, Vladimir first experienced yoga as a child learning from his parents, who were practitioners. At age 8, Vladimir began practicing martial arts in his father’s dojo, and by age 12 he was leading classes. He continued to study and teach martial arts and meditation until his early twenties when he dedicated himself fully to the practice and study of yoga. In 2009, he completed his 200 hour certification with Yoganand Michael Carroll in the Pranakriya yoga tradition. In 2012, Vladimir completed his 500 hour certification with the same school. Vladimir’s teaching comes from a strong foundation set by his daily personal practice and is firmly rooted in the ancient yogic texts of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Bhagavad Gita. Through his 5 years as a full-time teacher, Vladimir has developed a wide range of teaching techniques. He currently leads vigorous workout classes, deep meditative experiences, restorative yoga and classes for homeless youth and the Fulton County Juvenile Court. Vladimir is also an assistant director at the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts and is assisting the current 200 and 500 hour Pranakriya teacher training programs.
