Teaching Style
Cassondra offers a multi-layered, agency-driven class where students are encouraged to listen to their body’s unique needs, whether by challenging themselves with a peak pose or choosing a restorative option. She strives to create a safe environment for self-exploration and growth by combining posture practice with breathwork, meditation, and positive affirmations. Cassondra emphasizes the powerful connection of movement with breath and always focuses on internal growth as much as external, asking students: “What quiet achievement are you celebrating in your own practice?”
How Yoga Serves Cassondra
For Cassondra, yoga is a holistic practice that has made her a stronger, happier person, both on and off the mat. While asana (movement practice) helps her manage physical issues, like chronic migraines and a pinched nerve in her neck, her deep meditation practice strengthens her mental fortitude. She honors the 8 Limbs of Yoga through Seva (selfless service), volunteering to teach yoga at the Atlanta Humane Society and working with at-risk students, embodying the core teaching of joining body and mind.
Words of Wisdom
Guided by the question, “While on this earth, what good can I do?,” Cassondra views yoga as a synergy between honoring your personal mind-body connection and spreading that energy into the world. She encourages every student to listen to what their body and mind need in the moment and to honor that choice, emphasizing: “No matter what you do on your mat, I am proud of you for showing up.”
