Teaching Style

Sonja loves to create a fun, energetic, inspiring, yet challenging environment for all levels. She ensures Hot Pilates classes are low-impact and accessible to everyone with various modifications. She also focuses heavily on form and control.

How Hot Pilates Serves Sonja

Sonja also began practicing reformer and mat pilates in 2017 after giving birth to her first child and discovering the benefits of strengthening the body through core-focused movements and breathing. After getting certified in Hot Pilates, she’s been happy to pass on this knowledge and continues her own practice of using Pilates as a tool for movement, mobility, and building a mind-body connection.

Words of Wisdom

You are stronger than you know.
Give your body the movement it deserves, and it will reward you.
In college, I used to take a martial arts class, and my teacher would always say, “Flexibility is life. Stiffness is death.” To me, these words are such a true philosophy to live by.

Background

Sonja is an Army-kid turned Atlanta girl and began practicing yoga in 2007. She spent several years studying Kriya Yoga through the Center for Spiritual Awareness located in Lakemont, Georgia, and expanded into practicing 26&2 Yoga in 2012 when she joined the Evolation community as a member.

She went on to complete training for Inferno Hot Pilates Level I with Gabriella Walters in 2022. She also completed Inferno Hot Pilates Level II training in 2024.

Beyond the studio, Sonja enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her husband and two children.
